a song dedicated to e.k. cuz i heard it on my ipod in the car when i was driving home today. it's good and it made me think of him. "this time" by mest. this will be a limited time dl cuz i don't wanna have legal problems.
there's something so comforting in the pain of heartbreak. i think it's because songs sound so much better.
i took pics with justin and it's on my gallery page. enjoy ^_^
Jenni Cheung at 09:18 PMUsually I don't respond to guestbook entries here, but I will sense it was thought out and I feel the need to explain the purpose and scope of my blog once again.
Lets start off with the water droplets on the coke can. I don't drink any other soft drink. So my POV is limited to my tasty diet coke. And I was more analyzing the design of it than the soda itself. I know the soda isn't tastier cuz of it. Duh. But if other companies use this type of marketing photography and company A doesn't, ceteris paribis (sp?), then company A would be disadvantaged, right? So there's my point.
Now the video ipod thing. So within my limited scope of people I know, a few people got the video ipod. Being a gadget freak myself, that itself warrants me to get jealous and claim that I "need" to get it too. I don't read the news, I don't know about stocks. All I know is that that ipod is friggin pretty and I want it!
So my purpose for blogging isn't to enlighten anyone on the news around the world. I don't care enough about it for me to be good at that, and there are far more accessible resources for that anyway. My purpose is to write down my thoughts, however insignificant they may be, so that I can read them again in the future. In the meantime, if other people wanna read them and comment, go for it! On that note, I totally appreciate your guestbook entry, since it allowed me to further express my thoughts. Good nite! Im gonna go drink now on a saturday nite!
it's not really a weekly update, cuz i don't do this every week. this is really a "update cuz i feel like it and other random stuff" post.
i'm currently at work right now, enjoying my daily diet coke. and i'm looking at the can and noticing again the painted-on water droplets. after more careful inspection, i have decided that these actually make the drink look more thirst-quenching. because without these inviting droplets, the packaging would be much more bland. good job, softdrink marketing guys.
EVERYONE is getting the new ipods. i feel so behind with my 4G clickwheel one. i think imma get myself the ipod video for christmas, so i can watch fall out boy's "grand theft autumn" while i'm work and sigh about it. the nano is mighty attractive too, but i don't need something that tiny since i'm a girl and i have a purse. and if i really need something super portable, i still have my ipod shuffle. maybe i'll look for one of those sites that i can get a free ipod at again...
i also wanna get american wasteland if it comes out for psp. skating game with no loading screens will be kickass. that was one of the things that bugged me about underground 2 the most.
so i'm going to san diego this weekend with this boy i'm totally smitten with. i'm a bit intimidated because he's so cute and popular and all that good stuff. so i dunno how this will go. anyway, back to work...
Jenni Cheung at 06:51 PMi got my lip pierced again and it's a vertical labret again. yeah i got bored. so i went and got it done at this shop in sherman oaks. this was the first lip piercing i got done without a clamp (or second, i forget. this is my 6th time piercing my lip.) it's a little bit crooked, but u can't tell unless you REALLY REALLY look. i bugged the piercer to make it so that it's not so loose. (which is a bad idea, because the looseness lets it heal better.) so it looked good and cute for a day, but then it started growing in my lip. this always happens with my piercings because i get annoyed by the big bar and bearings and i usually change it to a smaller one to look dainty. but this is the second day, and i can't take it anymore since the top ball is like HALFWAY into my lip. so i took 2 pliers out, rubbed it down with alcohol and disinfected some of my old rings, and proceed to operate on my lip. so when i finally got my jewelry out, i realized that it was a smaller guage and shorter than all my other ones. so i put a 14G and longer one in. it is nowhere near as cute as the small one, but i guess i have to deal with it until it heals. cuz piercing my lip and taking it out and repiercing gets expensive.
and my hair is no longer red. i think the dye faded. friggin cheap chinese dye. i like my color now. it's like my old color. yay.
Jenni Cheung at 02:22 AMi had such frustration trying to install movabletype 3.2. at first i tried to upgrade it, but it didn't work. so i just deleted the old system and installed 3.2. i think the reason why it didn't work was because i forgot to set the permissions to 755 the first time. sigh... mebbe now i can figure out how to make an events calendar with it now.
Jenni Cheung at 08:26 PMi finally saw this tonite. way more twisted and fucked up than the first one. it was very painful to watch, esp since he wouldn't let me hold his hand, so i had to squeeze the friggin armrest during tense moments. argh.
anyway, DEFINATELY recommend it if you liked the first one or at least kinda liked the first one.
Jenni Cheung at 04:30 AMi'm still working on it. so there are some bugs on this site right now because there are still a lot of things that i'm working on.
this whole trying to integrate stuff through css and php is kinda tough, esp with the cgi's. so i mite change my guestbook because it's not too configurable.
Jenni Cheung at 06:05 PMtonight, i hope, he is a gentleman.
the fall out boy and starting line show last night was awesome! i was supposed to go with eugene originally, but then he flaked on me cuz he said he had to study for midterms. so i asked tony, one of my friends from highschool.
we missed panic at the disco, and came in just in time to see boy's night out. but i didn't like them that much. so we walked around more. there really isn't much to do, esp since they dont' serve alcohol here.
motion city soundtrack was on next, and i like them, but we sat in the bleachers anyway cuz tony doesn't really dig them that much and i was tired. they dressed up as "thriller" and their set was relatively short. but they played all the songs i like, esp "future freaks me out"
i decided that it's time we go down to the floor area, cuz it's such much funner on the floor. and i love starting line and fall out boy. we were standing stageright, relatively close to the stage. tony ran into some people from irvington (like one grade below us, she's as cute as ever). anyway, when starting line was about to start, there was like a rush of people into more middle/close to the stage. so i followed that stream of people to where it is way more crowded.
from then on it was just a fight for survival. i've learned from experience to wear hardy footwear and to not carry a purse. really helps out when you have to push your way to not get knocked over. we were about 10-15 "rows" from the front barrier for the starting line set. they were dressed as slipknot or something i think. "bedroom talk" rocked the house. "i'm gonna tear your ass up like we just got married and you're all mine now..." hehe. there was this skeezy little boy that hella pushed for no reason and i don't think he's with his friends, but he just pushed his way very rudely through parts of the crowd. i pushed him so hard when the crowd was pushing. but then i pushed everyone hard.
after starting line's set, we decided to wait in the crowd so we can be relatively close to fall out boy when they come on. but waiting was like crazy too. it was packed as if someone was already on stage (like super packed but not crazy pushing). the whole time i have to stand with my legs apart for stability and forearms up to be ready to push people.
FOB came on wearing animal costumes. so cute, but they must be so hot in those things. in their first act (they divided their set into 2 acts), they played just about all second-album songs. it got quite crazy. i had to fight my way to see the stage. at one time, there was this fat chick (like she was BIG) in front of me and do you know how hard it is to push into like a wall of flesh, or just try to wedge in between her and the guy next to her is?! during "sugar we're going down" i think i only saw the band for like 1 second. the rest of the time i was pushing or being pushed or jumping with the crowd. that was definately the song i had to put the most effort into defending myself. good thing i had tony there to partially help. if i was by myself, i'd be trampled.
so after that song or so, we got more stage right, but closer to the stage. people were more tired, so it was actually way more chill. act 1 was great because we were like in the second "row" and had a close and clear view fo the band. so awesome is "grand theft autumn", that's like my favorite song of theirs. near the end, bassist pete wentz climbed up this rope ladder that was right in front of us and hung upside down and sang. when he was trying to get off, he actually landed in the crowd right by where we were, i got to touch his leg, hehe.
but yeah, that took a lot out of me, all the pushing and sweating and having other people's sweat on me. but that's all part of the fun of being in the pit!
