taking back sunday and sum 41/good charlotte

concerts i went to the past month:
green day
taking back sunday, with matchbook romance and fallout boy
sum 41 and good charlotte, i didn't see the opening bands

i went to the greenday concert with cory. they basically played their whole new album (this was before the album came out) and at the end the played like 3 older songs. even though i didn't know any of the new songs, it was GOOD! of course, then i got the album, and it's a great album, one that everybody raves about. i used to have a big crush on billy joe. he's kind of a weird guy.

i love taking back sunday. both albums rock and the songs really made me feel. and i listened to both albums SO many times that i knew ALL the songs for TBS's set. so i loved it ^_^. it was at the hollywood paladium, so even though it was general admission, we were able to see them pretty well. drinking beer at concerts is fun!

even though i liked sum 41's singles from tv and radio, i never got their album, so i didn't really know their songs. but they're pretty good in concert and james like them too now, he downloaded their albums into my new ipod, but i haven't had a chance to listen to them yet. they're pretty energetic and their set was enjoyable and beat pumping. when good charlotte was coming on stage, everyone went crazy, because i guess they're the more popular group cuz they have more singles. the stage was set up really nicely to reflect the music video of "predictable." unfortunately, although i like their songs, they suck at performing. i mean, they didn't sound bad, the guy sings decently, but there was no ENERGY! and between songs, they try to kiss "los angeles"'s ass by saying they love LA like a GAZILLION times. and they say "yeah" way too much. it's so annoying. people were leaving early during their set! it was kinda sad, but still, i like their songs.

james (part deux)

to clarify, james is 30. it says so on his drivers license. and not just to defend him, but he looks younger in person. i'm not used to dating someone 10 years older than me, but i guess when it comes down to it, it's the chemistry that counts. besides, when i'm 50, he'll be 60, and there won't be much difference anyways.

i met some of his friends, they're pretty interesting. it was his friend's bday party and we went to a korean club at k-town. it's "le prive". it's a pretty nice club, but it's so skanky in a way. it's hella expensive for guys cuz they have to "buy" a table and a bottle of watered-down crown. girls get in free because they're like the "hostesses" that the guys can point to and the waiters will get the girls to the guys' table. good thing i was there with james, i can't imagine going clubbing at a place like this and being dragged to another table...
